How to install a line out converter for rca cables?

I'm trying use a line out converter because my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee factory head unit does not have rca plugs. I wanted to use the rca plugs to set up my amp I'm using for a subwoofer.

I'm a little confused on how to do this. I've read about it and I think I'm basically supposed to cut the speaker wire in the bock and attach it to the wires on the line-out converter. But wouldn't that mean that I would have to hook up all my speakers to my new amp? I really just want to power the sub with it.

Am i just being dumb or would I have to do that? How to install a line out converter for rca cables?
You just tap into the speaker lines from the factory head, so the head powers the factory speakers AND the converter at the same time. How to install a line out converter for rca cables?
take the positive and negative wires from both left and right speakers in either the front or rear. makes no difference. connect them to the according positive and negative on the converter. (split them so they are going to the speakers in the car as well as the converter.) run your rca cables to the amplifier. the end.
