How to use a line out converter for an amplifier?

I'm trying use a line out converter because my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee factory head unit does not have rca plugs. I wanted to use the rca plugs to set up my amp I'm using for a subwoofer.

I'm a little confused on how to do this. I've read about it and I think I'm basically supposed to cut the speaker wire in the bock and attach it to the wires on the line-out converter. But wouldn't that mean that I would have to hook up all my speakers to my new amp? I really just want to power the sub with it.

Am i just being dumb or would I have to do that? How to use a line out converter for an amplifier?
A line out converter is an accessory that attenuates the output from an

amplifier that is intended to drive a speaker so that it can feed a line-level

input without a significant increase in distortion.

In your application, you would connect the converter in parallel with

the original speakers, which would remain connected to the radio.

I think you will have much less chance of damaging anything if you get

Buy a new head unit with rca outputs would be the best bet, its a lot easier than wiring up a rca leads to your speaker wires, you will only be left with 2 front speakers and a sub
