Should i get a new head unit or a line out converter?

im upgrading to aftermarket speakers and thought i might as well upgrade the head unit as well. the head unit that i bought doesnt have rca outputs so i would have to get a line out converter right? i just want to upgrade because my speakers are blown, not trying to go all out.. it is a 1996 avalon btw. so is it really worth getting a new head unit or will a line out converter do just fine?Should i get a new head unit or a line out converter?
AH YES AN EARLY MORN DEBATE,,, mr.wakeup AND georgewi... is a lil off he did not say anything about an amp or subs so an rca output is not needed(right now) he already bought the headunit and getting new speaks is just fine for "not going all out" if U want to upgrade to install an amp LATER then U will need the use of rca's,,,,AND MAYBE NOT, if LATER U put an amp for the highs U could run speak wires to the amps HIGHS LEVEL INPUT CONNECTION WHICH NEEDS NO RCAs,,,,Should i get a new head unit or a line out converter?
If you dont plan to do much more to this car audio wise, then line out converter might be fine. But would not give you much versatility later on. IE: putting in more speakers or subwoofers or install amplifiers later on.

A different head unit would give you the options to upgrade and be more versatile later on.Should i get a new head unit or a line out converter?
MrWakeup has not a clue to this. As the line out convertor is to add an amp or ampliers to a stock stereo that doesn't have preamp outputs.

So to answer your question, you can use the line out convertor, but the signal is still going to be from the stock stereo. You can get a clean sweep made by JL Audio to upgrade the signal from the stock deck, since the stock deck it tuned down so that the life of the stock speakers is lengthened. So you might be better off getting a new deck with the preamp outputs, since it will have a much better signal. I would suggest any deck from Alpine, best signal going at this time.
