Can I use a converter for jura espresso machine from 220V to 120?

I want to buy a Jura super automatic espresso machine J6 in europe 220V and use it in Quebec Canada. Will the unit fonction just as well with a converter or will it brake?|||Buy one made for 120 volts 60 Hz. Otherwise you need the proper converter, an added expense.

Expresso machines use a lot of power, so you need a converter sized to match.

.

I have a question to decide to buy (Line Output Converter) or (Head Unit)?

I have Pontiac Grand Prix Gt 05 and yesterday I was going to install amplifire, when I removed my headunit, it wasn't any RCA for amp, so I have two choices but I need help

I found that headunit in ebay around $30 or less|||if you have the clip for it, you could use the high input from the speakers to the amp, i did this in my 99 sl2 and worked fine|||I think you should buy a new head unit. But stay away from Ebay. For $30 you're likely to end up with a bad unit and if you ask for a refund, the seller will give you a bad rating and call you a scammer.

The digital converter box is a brainwash unit?

well now, this may be one of the legacy boondoggles by the bush cheney self glorification era, or it may be the first steps to the 22nd century communications needs, short of finding a sub-space comm channel. the government, and this may include the UN, caused the world public to go to a digital transmission format, so the world communications corporations could "buy" the now open bandwidth that was formerly occupied by analog tv signals. this has increased the sale of HDTV from asia and created mountains of operable analog tv sets in the trash pile. the older crt/analog tv will not process the digital signal, so you will need the converter box. or a new hdtv set. considering all the other world problems, where did the money go????|||yes. big foot lives in there and sends coded signals to the extraterrestrials who then use your brain waves to raise the price of gas.

Would it be better to simply take the car into a specialized audio shop, or to install it myself? The unit is a Clarion vz300 (with 3 outputs) and i have 6 speakers in my car. Any thoughts on pricing to have it installed versus simply installing it myself?|||You are looking at $40-75 not including parts, just depends where you go. It is fairly simple to install a head unit your-self if you do get the install kit and the factory match wire harness. You can get both through Metra electronics, or look for the metra products on amazon.com or ebay.

How to hook up a rca converter to a mustang?

How do i hook up a rca converter to my factory head unit on my 2001 mustang mach 460 radio.

the converter has a ground wire, white (+), white/black (-) for the left side. and grey(+), grey/black(-) for the right side.

What do i connect it to?

be specific please. thank u.|||use only the 2 whites and 2 grays,

it will be better to go to the speakers and get the signal from there, because the signal from the radio is to low , you need the power from the amplifier to use the rca converter,

don't use the Ground wires

good luck

If im using a line output converter will i need to mess with the radio or head unit at all?

im wiring the LOC to the rear speakers so i can hook up subs and amp|||No, the only wires you'll need to grab are the rear speaker wires. If you can catch them in the rear, then do so. The only downfall is if you plan on adding an aftermarket radio in the future. Then you'll have to run your RCA's all over again.

What is the universial remote code for Venturer digital TV converter box?

I recently purchased a Venturer digital TV converter box from Target. The unit comes with a remote, which is tiny and inconvenient to operate. My Samsung DVD player comes with an IR diode for controlling other devices such as this. However, the manufacturer code table in the back of the DVD manual does not list a code for Venturer devices. Any ideas? While some websites list a three-digit code, the DVD player only accepts four digits.|||First thing, Universal Remote codes are not universal. Each manufacturer will organize their database differently, therefore having a different number for the same device than another universal remote manufacturer (or in your case the codes for an IR command feature on a video recorder)

Second thing, the Converter boxes are kind of new. Unless your video recorder is new (and even so, its software, and therefore IR code database, could be stale, and not have IR codes for the converter boxes), or can have a firmware update which includes new IR codes, your SOL on having the video recorder changing channels on that box.

You might be able to set timers on the converter box though.|||You can use some remotes with this converter box.I don't have a Samsung code but have codes for some others.Program the box to the satellite function on the remote.Toshiba:019;Radio Shack:0749,1749,0749,0790,1285鈥?

For digital tv converter box (Zenith DTT901 great unit!) what is a good indoor antenna to get? Flat?

I have been pulling in Indiana, sw lower Michigan, and all free Chicago stations or up to 47 channels with a broken coax/ antenna. I've used thick copper wiring in various configurations stapled to my walls and ceiling to get many channels in the Chicago area. Now, I've heard a great indoor antenna for the converter boxes are flat units, with no areals, no metal to adjust. I can't seem to find the names, the stores that sell them, nor any info on these on web sights. If I can pull in easily 35 stations in the Chicago area on the first floor of a an apartment, imagine if I had a half-way descent indoior antenna. By the way, do not respond to this question by suggesting that outdoor antennas are best. I can't put an outdoor antenna oin my landlord's building! I find the best long distance reception seems to be really old antennas with a coax plug-in to go into the converter box.|||A TV antenna is looking for a specific frequency or range of frequencies to capture. If they are detected it will send them to the converter box for decoding.

A TV antenna has a certain amount of gain built-in by design. Older TV antenna made before cable generally had higher gain as they had to get UHF stations from great distances.

Some type of antennas work better in specific areas than others. An indoor antenna generally is NOT as good as an outdoor antenna. The best for you will not be the best for everyone.

Got a sony frontloader.had to buy a line out converter as unit had no rca connections...what wires do i connec

if you are hooking up the amp to run subwoofers, i would connect the wires of the LOC to the rear channel speaker wires. just splice/twist together/solder up.

I dont have an rca slot on my head unit so I will use a line out converter will it kill sound quality?

it will cut it down a lil not too noticiable but down fall to using line out converters for amps... is that you cannot control the amp gain with the bass selection since you did not hook up the rcas directly to the radio...

I have a sony head unit with only sub out put but if i buy a converter to hook up a 4 channel amp?

How much would it cost to install i have a sony head unit but only has sub out put but if i by a converter i can get a 4 channel amp installed in stead how much would it cost to have it in stalled|||The pre-outs on your deck are putting out a different signal than what a 4 channel need to have put in. The best way to go about it would be to use an amp with high level inputs and run speaker wire from the back of the deck to the amp (you would have to cut the wires that come out of the radio and run wires from there). Then run all new speaker wire from the amp back up to all the speakers.

That would be the best way to use what you currently have, but if it was me I, would replace the deck and run RCAs back to the amp. I'm assuming the deck you have is an older model because of the lack of pre-outs and I'm sure if you upgrade the deck you will be much happier than trying to make what you have right now work.

If i get a subwoofer in my car with a stock head unit with a line out converter would it not bump as hard?

What do i need to do for it to be good without changing the head unit|||As long as your factory head unit does not have a lot of built in equalization, using the factory speaker outputs should work just fine. Otherwise a JL Clean Sweep or similar product that cleans up the factory speaker signals is recommended.

In either case, it's important to use a good line output converter. Not one of the cheap WalMart kind. I'd recommend a good quality LOC like the ones from http://www.davidnavone.com.

http://images.davidnavone.com/images/nrH鈥?/a>

Also a good amp and good enclosure are important to getting the hard bump you want. Make sure that your enclosure is right for the selected sub(s) and that the amp matches well both in impedance and power output.

How to make a simple VBA unit converter that references an excel spreadsheet (input and output)?

Hi all, i wrote this pretty simple sheet on excel last night and now i'd like to give it some user appeal by making a Visual basic interface. I have no experience with VB, so I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to do a few things, I've tried looking online but I'm so inexperienced with the software that I don't even know what keywords to search.

There are 2 major things I need it to do:

1) I'll have a feature with a title like "Enter value" [input box]. The user will type a numeric value into that box and it will go to a specific cell in the excel spreadsheet; in this case, B2.

2) The next feature will have an output box. "Result" [ output]. This output is controlled by the excel functions in cell B3. So, after inputting the value for B2, B3 will have an automatic value appear, and I need the VB form to update with the value from B3.

If my explanation is unclear, just think of it as a converter. Imagine that you want to convert the input value, B2, and the output value is controlled by a formula in B3. And the whole point of the VBA userform is just to bypass the spreadsheet and allow the person to simply type in their value and have it automatically show the result.

That's just about it, There's more to it, but those 2 tasks are the root of what I need to figure out, I can probably work around the rest.

Thanks in advanced for your help!|||You can also do as you wish without a userform.

For example the following Before_DoubleClick event handler will query the user for a value. When entered, it will display a message box with the result.

Copy the following event handler to the clipboard:

Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)

inputValue = Val(InputBox("Enter value", "Input"))

If inputValue = "" Then

Exit Sub

End If

Range("B2").Value = inputValue

MsgBox Range("B3").Value, vbOKOnly, "Result"

End Sub

Select the appropriate worksheet and right click the sheet tab.

Select 'View Code'.

Paste the event handler into the editing area to the right.

Close the VBE and return to the worksheet.

Double click any cell, enter a value, and press Enter or click 'OK'.

==================

If you wish to use a userform to do this, and you have created your userform using the default control and userform names, you can use the following codes.

First, you will need to create a macro to call the userform.

Copy this macro to the clipboard:

Sub shwForm ()

Userform1.Show

End Sub

Press ALT + F11

In the menus at the top of the VBE, select INSERT %26gt; MODULE

Paste the macro into the editing area to the right.

Close the VBE and return to the worksheet.

If you wish to show the form using a command button, create one from the Forms toolbar. Assign the macro above to the commandbutton.

Otherwise, you can call the macro using a keyboard shortcut.

Press ALT + F8

When the Macros window opens, highlight the macro and click 'Options...'

Enter a letter to be used as a keyboard shortcut and click 'OK'.

Close the Macros window.

This will now enable you to show the userform.

Now for the code to enable the userform functionality. The following assumes your textbox for entry of a value is named TextBox1 and for the result is named TextBox2.

Access the userform in the VBE and right click anywhere in the body of the form.

Select 'View Code'.

Paste the following event handler into the editing area to the right.

Private Sub TextBox1_Change()

Range("B2").Value = Me.TextBox1.Value

Me.TextBox2.Value = Range("B3").Value

End Sub

Close the VBE and return to the worksheet. Press your command button, or activate your keyboard shortcut, to call the userform.

Enter a value in TextBox1, and TextBox2 will return the value of B3.

Of course, there are other things you can do to enhance the code. For example, you can restrict the value enter to a numeric value with an event handler like this:

Private Sub TextBox1_Change()

If Not IsNumeric(Me.TextBox1) And Me.TextBox1.Value %26lt;%26gt; "" Then

MsgBox "Entry must be numeric", vbCritical, "Invalid Entry"

Me.TextBox1.SetFocus

Exit Sub

End If

Range("B2").Value = Me.TextBox1.Value

Me.TextBox2.Value = Range("B3").Value

End Sub|||An Excel Userform will do the trick.

Here's a link, but you can find hundreds of examples on the web

Can I use car battery with power converter to get a air conditioner running?

I want to be able to use a air conditioner from car battery using a let's say 600 watt power converter unit .Question is 1.Can a setup like this work . 2.What specs of battery is needed? 3.A 8000 btu air condition unit how long would it be able to run from the specified battery?

If it cant work like this or you know a simpler way tell me .

Thank You|||It can work, but the battery would not last long.

Guessing, the AC will use about 8 amps at 120 VAC. That is 960 watts. You will need a 1500 watt inverter as the start up current for the AC is a lot higher. Perhaps 2000 watt inverter.

Counting losses, you will need about 1150 watts from the battery. that is 100 amps. A large auto battery (70 amp hours) in good shape will last about an 40 minutes before it is completely discharged.

You should never use an auto battery indoors as it can emit dangerous gases. If you completely discharge an auto battery, it is damaged.

.|||A 600 watt converter will only produce about 5 1/5 to 6 amps, not nearly enough to even start the A/C with the normal starting amp requirements.

Most batteries come with a "reserve amps" number, which is necessary to determine the time any appliance will run with a specific current draw.

The formula can be obtained by calling the converter manufacturer.

Also, you might call or visit a local RV dealer and ask as this is common with some of the larger motor homes.|||You won't even get the a/c working in fan only mode with a 600 watt converter. Even if you got a large enough converter, the battery would only last a few minutes. To put this into perspective, if you had the battery in an car with the car running, it still wouldn't work because the alternator couldn't produce enough electric to keep the a/c running and battery charged. Something like this is the best alternative I can think of http://home-solutions.hsn.com/stainz-r-o鈥?/a>|||air conditioners draw a lot of current.

there is the compressor, and 2 fans.

the compressor is the heavy load.

a car battery really doesn't have the capacity to put out that much power for long periods of time.

you could hook it up, however, you'll find that the battery gets dangerously hot.

i would highly discourage you from trying it.|||I have a 5000 btu air conditioner which draws 530 watts. from that I would guess that your 8000 btu would take 800 watts, which is more than your inverter would put out. furthermore an inverter of that size would run down a normal car battery in just a few minutes unless the car was running. the only other way I can think to do this without plugging into your house current would be a small generator.|||your power converter will need to be massive say at least 3000watts(continuous power). air conditioner compressor will cycle on and off and the power surge might damage the power converter if it isn't big enough. depending on how long you want to run the a/c, i suggest those batteries from big trucks

Visual Basic 2010 - Unit Converter?

I am attempting to make a unit converter that converts between km, m, cm, miles, yards, feet, and inches. I have a textbox that is used to input the value to convert followed by a space and the units (i.e., 56 km) and a second textbox where the user types what unit they want to convert to (i.e., cm). When converting, the output will be displayed in the second textbox. (I know this is complicated, but this is the way it is to be done).

I am doing this using sub and function procedures and If blocks and Select Case blocks (i.e., keeping it as simple as possible). I also need to add a comma every 3 digits in the answer, which i am unsure on how to do. Any help would be appreciated on where to start or how to accomplish this. As an added note, I am a beginning programmer so if explanations could be kept in simple terms, I would appreciate it.

Here is something I have tried but I can't figure out what is wrong:

Private Sub Button1_Click(..)

Dim smplTB As String = "1,000.045 km" 'simulated textbox entry

Dim parts() As String = smplTB.Split(New Char() {" "c}, StringSplitOptions.RemoveEmptyEntries)

parts(0) = parts(0).Replace(",", "")

Dim valPart As Double

Dim unitPart As String

Dim numDecs As Integer = 0

If Double.TryParse(parts(0), valPart) Then

'valid number

unitPart = parts(1)

Debug.WriteLine(unitPart %26amp; " " %26amp; valPart.ToString)

If parts(0).IndexOf("."c) %26lt;%26gt; -1 Then

numDecs = parts(0).Length - parts(0).IndexOf("."c) - 1

End If

Debug.WriteLine(numDecs.ToString)

End If

Dim meters As Double = 0

'from unit converted to meters

Select Case unitPart

Case ""

Case "km"

meters = valPart * 1000

Case "m"

meters = valPart

Case "cm"

meters = valPart / 100

Case "mm"

meters = valPart / 1000

Case "in"

meters = valPart * 0.00254

Case "ft"

meters = valPart * 0.3048

Case "mi"

meters = valPart * 1609.3

End Select

Dim toUnit As String = "in"

Dim toVal As Double = 0

'to unit based on meters

Select Case toUnit

Case "in"

toVal = meters * 39.37

Case "ft"

toVal = meters * 3.28 ..... etc, etc. through all the units

End Select|||By your program example it looks like you are on the right track. Remember normally someone will not enter in a number with a "," in it soo your text input example of "1,000.045 km" probably would have really been entered 1000.045 km in the text box so I don't think you need to worry about parsing out the "," in the input number... (I may have misunderstood.)

OK... Now to get the number and variable seperated from each other look at the Text Box entry as a string and look for the "Space" Use the instring command like this.

WhereSpaceIs = instr$(Text1.Text," ") This will give you where you need to split the string.

So now on the left side of the space should be a number. On the right side is the begining units.

So since you have a string in your hand you will need to convert the left side to a real number like this. valPart=Val(left$(Text1.Text,WhereSpaceI鈥?This will make the valPart var a real number again.

Then you can get the units by using the Right$ command such as.

unitPart = Right$(Text1.Text,Len(Text1.Text)-WhereS鈥?This should give you the right most characters for your units. It's already a string so you don't have to do anything with it.

Then your Text2.Text box holds what you want to take it to so all you have to do is run either your Case's that you have outlined or I would actually do If Then statements.

When you go to put your answer back into the Text2.Text box you will convert it back to a string using the :

StringAnswer = Str$(Answer) command then just test the length of this to add your comma's back in....

line output converter or loc in connected to the radio harness when u have no rca jacks in back of head unit|||you need to buy a high to low converter on one side you have the speaker cable and in the other you have the RCA outputs and second you need to cut off the rear speaker cables and then attached them to the converter. that's the easiest way |||Unless your GM radio is a "Bose" type, then you can tap into the factory speaker wiring right behind the radio. Here are the typical wire colors:

left front: tan (+), gray (-)

right front: light green (+), dark green (-)

left rear: brown (+), yellow (-)

right rear: dark blue (+), light blue (-)

The wire pairs should be located next to each other in the factory harness.

You do not have to disconnect the speakers, or cut the speaker wire. If you can strip the wire without cutting it, you can just solder the LOC wiring right into the stock speaker wiring.

In GM vehicles with rear deck speakers, you can usually tap into the rear speaker wiring inside the trunk.

Java unit converter help?

Does anyone know how to make a unit converter with java using if, else, else if; .equals?

For example:

2.0 miles equals:

321868.8 centimeters

3218.688 meters

3.218688 kilometers

|||I would pick a base unit to start. Then I would convert the entered number to the base unit and then to the desired one. For example, lets say you choose meters as the base unit.

First, I would define several constants to convert to meters.

static double KILOMETERS = 0.001;

static double CENTIMETERS = 100;

static double MILES = 0.00062;

static double INCHES = 39.37;

Then, declare the variables.

String start_type , end_type;

double start_value , base_value, end_value;

After storing the type of conversion, I would put the if-else statements to convert to the base.

if(start=="miles") {

base_value = MILES*start_value;

}

else if(start=="centimeters") {

base_value = CENTIMETERS*start_value;

}

...

Finally, put the if-else statements to convert to the end type.

if(end=="miles") {

end_value = 1/MILES * base_value;

}

else if(end=="centimeters") {

end_value = 1/CENTIMETERS * base_value;

}

...

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Is there any problem if I convert adsense ads unit using ads converter?

Their Policies state you can't alter the code in any way but so far they have seemed willing to let people get away with this. The could ofcourse choose to enforse their Policy at any time! Personally I'm not sure I'd risk it.

The other thing to be careful of is the maximum number of ad units per page. If you put an ad unit in each post then you will have to ensure that no more than 3 post appear per page and ofcourse you would have no scope for a header or sidebar unit. The 3 posts per page maximum is a Policy they do enforce quite rigidly.|||Google won't encourage these kind of things... and there is no good option than Google...

I need help on how to hook a level line converter to a stock radio i bought one today , and i dont know whare to hook the wires up to ???|||depends on the car and if it has a factory amplifed system, but usually you can just tag it off the rear speaker output behind the deck. coloring varies from car to car, need more info for colors. or you can just grab it directly off the speakers in the car if you can get to them.

Trying to connect RCA Converter to Original Head Unit, any ideas?

I have a VW Golf V (Rabbit, MK5) and I purchased a RCA converter to connect my amp to the original rcd300 stereo. I am not sure which one is Left + - and Right + -

I connected them to left and right but it doesnt work so will I need to find out the negatives and positives, or could it be something else. Everything went perfect. Anyone who can help me?|||Some times those Color codes are not very helpful. I had the same problem and i call the maker and they told me everything i needed. it only took about 5 mins. My module had 6 wires. L-+/R-+ /GND/ and the last (6th) wire was unused. check if the module has a ground. as far as left and right, if all you are connecting is a single amp for subs it doesnt matter as long as you are consistent with whatever pattern you follow. Unit Converter on Ti calculator?

How to do this problem on unit converter of a ti calculator.

1.75g to milligrams.

4.7nm to meters

I would really appreciate if you help me. I really need someones assistance.

Thank You.|||Hi.

I have both a TI-85 and a TI-86 calculator, and on these machines you would use the CONV utility: press the yellow [2nd] key, then the [5] key to get to the conversion menus.

Then, for the first problem, select the MASS submenu, and for the second problem, select the LNGHT submenu. To navigate through the submenus, use the [MORE] key.

However, these problems are so simple that you can solve them in your head:

Milli means 1/1000,

Micro means 1/1000000,

Nano means 1/1000000000.

and next are Pico, Femto and Atto.

Connecting subs to stock head unit with line out converter?

i got a line out converter and i need to keep my stock head unit cause its still under warranty. im trying to connect 2 subs (1200w 12") and i was wondering if i can connect the converter to the rear speakers in the trunk. would this work? if so would i use both speakers since i have 2 subs or can i only tap into one?|||I have done this and never had any problem besides a little noise. Go ahead and tap both of your rear speakers. You will Need to run all the other necessary wires to your trunk, make sure you use a good quality amp kit. Running your remote wire can be tricky, I usually wire it to the ignition power to the radio. This way when I turn the key on the amp also turns on. To help eliminate some possible engine noise keep the power wire away from any signaling wires.

Good luck!

Help with a java metric unit converter please?

i have searched all over the net and no source code could show me how to make a java metric unit converter. this program would convert any metric unit to another metric unit. there should be two JComboBoxes. one is labeled FROM and the other is TO. Choices should be mm, cm, m, dam, dm, km. there should be a CLEAR button and CALCULATE button.

a JTextField should be at the bottom showing the results. Deadline is this Friday. 5pm PST.|||I have made applets that do that, and I am pretty sure I can make a regular program that does that. Just email me at m0v0n@hotmail.com (the 0's are zeros). I could either make it for you or tell you how to make it. Just email me the specifics.|||Lol. I think you can manage your own homework. The actual program is retardedly easy, the only complicated thing would be a GUI, but that's easy with Java. Just go to java.sun.com and check out some GUI tutorials.

Should i get a new head unit or a line out converter?

im upgrading to aftermarket speakers and thought i might as well upgrade the head unit as well. the head unit that i bought doesnt have rca outputs so i would have to get a line out converter right? i just want to upgrade because my speakers are blown, not trying to go all out.. it is a 1996 avalon btw. so is it really worth getting a new head unit or will a line out converter do just fine?|||AH YES AN EARLY MORN DEBATE,,, mr.wakeup AND georgewi... is a lil off he did not say anything about an amp or subs so an rca output is not needed(right now) he already bought the headunit and getting new speaks is just fine for "not going all out" if U want to upgrade to install an amp LATER then U will need the use of rca's,,,,AND MAYBE NOT, if LATER U put an amp for the highs U could run speak wires to the amps HIGHS LEVEL INPUT CONNECTION WHICH NEEDS NO RCAs,,,,|||If you dont plan to do much more to this car audio wise, then line out converter might be fine. But would not give you much versatility later on. IE: putting in more speakers or subwoofers or install amplifiers later on.

A different head unit would give you the options to upgrade and be more versatile later on.|||MrWakeup has not a clue to this. As the line out convertor is to add an amp or ampliers to a stock stereo that doesn't have preamp outputs.

So to answer your question, you can use the line out convertor, but the signal is still going to be from the stock stereo. You can get a clean sweep made by JL Audio to upgrade the signal from the stock deck, since the stock deck it tuned down so that the life of the stock speakers is lengthened. So you might be better off getting a new deck with the preamp outputs, since it will have a much better signal. I would suggest any deck from Alpine, best signal going at this time.
