18. Remote Control: A remote control to operate the equipment shall be provided with batteries. This unit does not comply. This is the only DTV converter Walmart has in store. Therefore you can not exchange for a different model and you basically loose your $40 coupon.Is the Magnavox TB100MW9 DTV converter required to comply w/ NTIA Appendix 1 of the Final Rule #18 %26amp;21?
This unit is considered compliant to the rule you cite.
The box is manufactured by Funai with the Magnavox brand. Thus, the owners manual suggests that you use the codes for your universal remote for Funai and Magnavox devices. Sorry - I don't buy it. Can't find any codes Funai, Magnavox or Sylvania that work for this DTV box. After searching all over the internet, there are no documented codes that work. This unit is NOT compliant. Any class action lawyers out there?
