Take the power supply out of an old computer. You will use the yellow wire and the black one right next to it as these are 12 volts, the red and black are 5 volts. I've even ran small amps off of one of these. Good short protection also. It works I promise.

What do I need to do to power a Head Unit for home use?
I've been reading these converters, inverters, ect. and I don't understand it. I have an old XR-CA360X Sony XPLOD car head unit that I want to use as the main controller for the rest of the audio I'm plugging into it. What exactly do I need to just use the power wire to go into a 12V home socket?What do I need to do to power a Head Unit for home use?
