The line output converter is connected to the speaker wires that comes from the HU. They have to be attached to the back of the HU. It should have a plug connected to the HU and the wires hooked to it.

Go to this site for a wiring diagram of your car:

You can either tap into them behind the radio or at the rear speakers. It would be easier at the radio other than having to take both rear door panels off.

Ultimately it's your call.

If your Grand Cherokee is equipped with an Infinity sound system, you can find all the wires at the factory amplifier, underneath the rear seat. With this type of system, you can tap your line-out converter into the input wires that come from the head unit, or the output wires that run to the speakers. Usually the input wires are the best ones to use, because the amplifier has built-in crossovers that will cut some of the frequency range from the speaker outputs.

The instructions with most line-out converters will tell you NOT to connect the ground wire in most cases.
