How do I convert this Fahrenheit unit to Celsius?

I have the text here

"95 percent of the reef's living coral could die by mid century if ocean temperatures rise by 2.7 degrees F, as scientists predict"

How many degrees celcius is equal to the degrees F figure above? I used a converter and it gave me -18 c, which would be a DECREASE in ocean temps, would it not? :s I'm confused. How do I convert this Fahrenheit unit to Celsius?
a degree F is equal to a degree C x 9/5

a degree C is equal to a degree F x 5/9

In this case, you want 2.7 x 5/9 = 1.5 C

.How do I convert this Fahrenheit unit to Celsius?
There is a difference between:

1) A temperature of 2.7 degrees F

2) A rise in temperature of 2.7 degrees F

The conversion factor you need is

(a rise of) 180 degrees F equals (a rise of) 100 degrees C

The converter used the conversion for a temperature of 2.7 degrees FHow do I convert this Fahrenheit unit to Celsius?
use formula........ C / 100 = F-32 / 180
