If i get a subwoofer in my car with a stock head unit with a line out converter would it not bump as hard?

What do i need to do for it to be good without changing the head unit|||As long as your factory head unit does not have a lot of built in equalization, using the factory speaker outputs should work just fine. Otherwise a JL Clean Sweep or similar product that cleans up the factory speaker signals is recommended.

In either case, it's important to use a good line output converter. Not one of the cheap WalMart kind. I'd recommend a good quality LOC like the ones from http://www.davidnavone.com.

Also a good amp and good enclosure are important to getting the hard bump you want. Make sure that your enclosure is right for the selected sub(s) and that the amp matches well both in impedance and power output.
