How much would it cost to install i have a sony head unit but only has sub out put but if i by a converter i can get a 4 channel amp installed in stead how much would it cost to have it in stalled|||The pre-outs on your deck are putting out a different signal than what a 4 channel need to have put in. The best way to go about it would be to use an amp with high level inputs and run speaker wire from the back of the deck to the amp (you would have to cut the wires that come out of the radio and run wires from there). Then run all new speaker wire from the amp back up to all the speakers.
That would be the best way to use what you currently have, but if it was me I, would replace the deck and run RCAs back to the amp. I'm assuming the deck you have is an older model because of the lack of pre-outs and I'm sure if you upgrade the deck you will be much happier than trying to make what you have right now work.
