How much would it cost to install a single-din head unit in my 1998 chevy camaro?

The camaro has a stock 1.5 Din head unit, so I would need to buy a converter for around 10$

Would it be better to simply take the car into a specialized audio shop, or to install it myself? The unit is a Clarion vz300 (with 3 outputs) and i have 6 speakers in my car. Any thoughts on pricing to have it installed versus simply installing it myself?|||You are looking at $40-75 not including parts, just depends where you go. It is fairly simple to install a head unit your-self if you do get the install kit and the factory match wire harness. You can get both through Metra electronics, or look for the metra products on amazon.com or ebay.

There is no point in winging it if you don't want mistakes or for it to be time consuming, but some people do, do it! (thats how i got started in car audio, just winging it)

Here is a dash kit for your camaro-
